e expensive because of the cabins.\n\nWHAT:\n\nThe outdoor camping experie
nce allows participants to put into practice what they learned during troo
p meetings\, which is camping in the snow or a very cold environment withi
n a very safe environment accompanied by a couple of hundred fellow Scoute
rs.  This may be the best high adventure they may ever participate in as
a youth\; even adults have fun.  The event has a focus on fun in the cold
/snow\, along with camping challenges that are easily overcome with experi
 ence and mentoring.\n\n\nWHEN: March 10-12\, 2022\n\nWHERE: Camp Hi-Sierra
  – 29211 Hwy 108 Long Barn\, CA 95335\n\n\nPrice includes campground fe
es\, unit ribbon\, and patch with rocker for each participant (plus food).
\n\nSchedule\n\n Friday morning: 10:00 AM begin check-in\, set up camp/bu
ild snow shelters. A leaders’ campfire and orientation meeting will be h
eld that evening at camp Headquarters.  Time to be announced on-site.\n
Saturday activities are up to the individual units however\, games will be
available for fun on Saturday morning on the athletic field such as volle
yball\, ultimate Frisbee\, soccer on freshly packed snow\, or any other ev
ent the youth wish to organize. Each Troop may want to develop a program f
or their unit that includes rank advancement requirements.  There is a Sa
turday night campfire program with a program put on by “every” unit (s
 ong\, skit\, reading\, etc.)\, including a flag retirement.\n Sunday morn
ing: Clean up\, pack the cars\, and be checked out by 11:00 AM.\n\nBearPaw
can be considered a car camping event.  Units may leave the campground d
uring the day on Saturday and drive up to Lake Pinecrest\, go skiing\, or
participate in any other activity desired.  BearPaw focuses on camping in
cold weather with or without snow which includes cooking\, sleeping\, and
keeping warm.  Units are not required to be at camp during the day.
